These conferences are devoted to fundamental studies and forefront research in basic AMO physics, broadly defined. Emphasis is on atoms and their interactions with each other and with external fields. All invited talks are plenary, including two "Hot Topics" sessions, plus 3 poster sessions. On the opening day of the conference there will be a Nobel Symposium featuring talks by recent Nobel Laureates in AMO Physics, who participate actively in the conference. Topics this year include but are not limited to: Precision Measurements, Atomic Clocks, Quantum Information, Trapped Ions, Quantum Optics and Cavity QED, Bose and Fermi Gases of atoms, Optical Lattices, Cold Molecules, Mesoscopic Quantum Systems and Ultrafast Phenomena. The program with a list of confirmed invited speakers is given on the Website above. IUPAP sponsorship has been secured, including subsidies for a limited number of participants from developing countries. Limited support for students attending ICAP2008 will also be available. A satellite conference and an AMO Physics Summer School are associated with the conference.
