To: icap-announcements@phys.uconn.edu Date: February 11, 2008 Subject: ICAP 2008 in Storrs, CT USA -- July 27-August 1, 2008 Dear ICAP 2006 Participant: In case you havent yet heard, we wanted to alert all of you to the forthcoming International Conference on Atomic Physics (ICAP 2008), which will be held from July 27-August 1, 2008 on the campus of the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut, USA. The campus is located approximately midway between New York City and Boston. The nearest major airport is Bradley International Airport (symbol BDL), serving Hartford, Connecticut. Details about the conference, including important deadlines, as well as the First Announcement are available at the Official Conference Website http://www.phys.uconn.edu/icap2008/ As with the previous conference in Innsbruck in 2006, talks will encompass forefront research in basic current AMO physics, emphasizing atoms and their interactions with each other and with external fields. Topics such as ultracold molecules, degenerate quantum gases, precision measurements and ultrafast physics are included. All invited talks are plenary, with contributed poster sessions. There will be approximately 10 Hot Topics talks, with speakers selected at a later date. As in the past, we expect several lectures by Nobel Laureates in AMO physics. IUPAP sponsorship has been secured. We call your attention to the Early Registration deadline of April 18, 2008 and the Abstract Submission deadline of June 9, 2008.
