Spectral Function Animations

This page contains animations which supplement plots displayed in the paper Simple Soluble Molecular Ionization Model, by Gerald Dunne and Chris Gauthier. This paper presents an exact solution for the spectral function for the one dimensional ionization problem of a diatomic molecule represented by two binding delta function wells (each of strength g), separated by a distance 2a, in the presence of a static electric field of field strength F. The corresponding potential is displayed here. The animations displayed here illustrate how the spectral function changes as the physical parameters F, a, and g are varied. These dependences are illustrated for both the "quasi-bound" and the "quasi-continuum" parts of the spectrum.
