This animation shows the variation of the spectral function in the quasi-continuum region as the field strength F varies. Notice that in
this movie the field strength F is decreasing with time. The dashed line represents the spectral function without an electric field,
indicating the continuum resonances due to Ramsauer scattering between the two atomic wells. For nonzero F there is another oscillation
scale,
oscillating about the average free field value, related to resonant scattering between the atomic wells and the linear electric field potential.
As F decreases these oscillations become shorter and shorter, eventually averaging out at the free field F=0 spectral function.
