• 1990-2001: graduate student in the Physics Department, University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT. From 1993 a graduate research assistant in Phillip Gould's lab.

• 1985-1986: volunteer at the 18th St Neighborhood Center, Wheeling WV as part of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps:East.

RESEARCH:

• 2002: post-doctoral researcher in ultracold Rb molecules.
• 1995 - 2001: investigations into two-color, two-photon, counter-intuitive excitations of Rb to the 5D level in a cell trap MOT.
• 1993-1994: investigation of rectified forces in a cell trap MOT.

Departmental TA of the Year for 1991-1992.  The courses for which I've been a TA include Astronomy, Physics for Engineers, Physics for the Life Sciences, Physics for Physics Majors, Optics (for advanced physics majors), Junior Project Lab (for advanced physics majors) and the Physics of Music.
• 1996: departmental TA representative to the university TA workshop.
• 1996, 1998, 2000: mentor to a visiting undergraduate in the Research Experience for Undergraduates program.
• 1996: mentor to an undergraduate working on his senior thesis.
