The Norman Hascoe Lectures on the Frontiers of Science
The Department of Physics has continued to play a leading role in a lecture series funded by Mr. Norman Hascoe of Greenwich, Connecticut, aimed at exciting undergraduates with scientific interests in frontier areas of science. The lecture series was established in 1997. Each lecture is open to the public and is followed by a reception and an informal panel discussion.
A multidisciplinary committee involving Physics, Chemistry, the Biological Sciences, and the Institute of Materials Science receives suggestions for frontier topics and lectures and coordinate the series. The Organizing Committee consists of Professors William Stwalley (Chair), Joseph Budnick, Fotios Papadimitrakopoulos, Bob Birge, Niloy Dutta, and Juliet Lee. Suggestions for future lectures are welcomed.
