Abstract:
In the Laboratory for Nuclear Science (LNS) at Avery Point (http://astro.uconn.edu), AKA as the Laboratory for Astrophysics, we carry out a rich program of research in Astrophysics. On one hand we use the sun to study fundamental physics, such as weak interactions or neutrino masses. And on the other hand we concentrate on open central problems in stellar evolution theory, such as supernova explosions. In this short talk we will review the science pursued at the LNS at Avery Point in an attempt to have a short hour of unadulterated fun (i.e. no math).

We will be hosting the SPS Zone1 meeting at the end of this month.  Registration is free for all students and $20 for non-students.  There will be student presentations on research as well as a poster session.  The keynote speaker is our own Dr. Ron Mallett, who will be speaking about his work with time travel. We hope to see you there!
