David B. Fenner, CV

David Fenner earned the Ph.D. in physics from Washington University, St. Louis, in 1976. David was on the faculty at Santa Clara University in California from 1981 to 1990 (with tenure), and was a visiting scientist at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center from 1987 to 1990. From 1990 to 1996 he was with Advanced Fuel Research in East Hartford, Conn., and from 1998 to 2003 he was Chief Scientist at Epion Corporation in Billerica, Mass. In 2004 he joined Verionix, Inc. in Wilmington, Mass. as Chief Scientist. In June of 2005 he joined Physical Sciences, Inc. in Andover, Mass., where he is Principal Research Scientist. His research interests since 1987 have been in the surface science of electronic materials including analytical methods, surface processing, thin-film deposition, and applications to electronic and photonic devices. He is an author on over 150 technical publications, an inventor on seven issued U.S. patents, and served as P.I. on numerous federal grants and contracts including the Advanced Technology Program from DoC-NIST. He has been an adjunct (gratis) faculty in the Physics Department since 1993, and is currently Research Professor in Physics at University of Connecticut. Since 1991 he has collaborated with Professor J. I. Budnick, and this has lead to several joint publications.
