Prospecting for Dark Matter with the Deep Lens Survey

Professor Ian Dellantonio

Brown University

Gravitational lensing provides the most direct way to measure the matter content of the Universe and the evolution of the clustering of mass, which can be constrained through cosmological simulations. I will discuss the technique of weak gravitational lensing and how it is applied to surveys of the mass clustering of the Universe, with particular emphasis on results from the Deep Lens Survey.
