High-speed optical processing technologies are essential in building all-optical networks in the information era. In this thesis, I will report the study on the nonlinear gain and phase dynamics in semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOA). The experiment of all-optical Boolean function AND, XOR, OR will be presented. The designs of all-optical circuits such as a parity checker and a pseudo-random binary sequence (PRBS) generator will also be demonstrated. |
