Perturbation theory diverges (and that's the good news!)

I will explain why it is actually a good thing, physically, that perturbation theory generically diverges. The idea is very simple, but has profound consequences in quantum mechanics and quantum field theory, providing a bridge between the perturbative regime and the nonperturbative regime.
