Terabit Transmission Systems
This seminar will provide an introductory, tutorial-type overview of key systems design issues in design of long haul Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) transmission systems. We describe the recent experimental result of 3.2 Terabit/s (80Gbit/s x 40 channels) WDM signals transmission over 1,000km optical fiber (100km repeater spacing with 25dB span loss) with 100GHz channel separation, achieving a record-breaking transmission distance and capacity.
